Review: Vilter Fun

Nov 16, 2023Nov 16, 2023

Following the Pro and S versions, the Vilter has now been released in a Fun version. Aspire continues to offer simple, practical pods for quality indirect inhalation. With no settings to adjust, this featherweight vape is entry-level and very user-friendly.

The Vilter Fun lives up to its name. Available in 6 colours, from classic black to bright pink, there's something for everyone! Small and light, you can take it anywhere. Fully automatic, the vapour is undeniably good thanks to its built-in coil.

Underneath the Vilter Fun there's a USB-C port for charging the 400 mAh battery. It takes about 50 minutes for a full charge. The battery life isn't very long, but in such a small device this would be difficult to deliver. The 1 ohm coil is built into the cartridge and is economical. You won't need to charge your Vilter Fun too often to get great enjoyment from it.

On the side, at the base of the pod, there's a small metal plate bearing the brand's logo. It's discreet and flush with the surface. The battery casing is plastic with a soft touch finish and feels cushioned to the touch. The battery cover is ribbed along its whole length for a great grip.

There's a hole on either side on the upper part of the battery to cool the coil inside the cartridge. The size of the holes is perfect for creating a tight, indirect inhalation draw (into your mouth then into your lungs, like a tobacco cigarette).

The cartridge sits on top of the battery, which is standard for a pod. It's held in place by two powerful magnets which make sure it stays firmly in place. There is no sideways play around the tank, so nothing to complain about here. The cartridge contains a sealed coil. You can't change the coil without replacing the whole tank. It's easy to do, so there are no fiddly coil changes here. Unfortunately, it does mean there's a lot of plastic involved.

Filling it is just as you’d expect. You have to lift the silicone tab to access the filling hole. The hole will only take thin e-liquid bottle tips. A tank capacity of 2 ml is in keeping with the overall size of the pod.

You can replace the Delrin resin mouthpiece with a filter (there are 3 in the box). The filter has a central hole and looks like a tobacco cigarette filter. This is a nice gesture by the manufacturer, which has clearly thought about new vapers. The feel of a filter that is so like a traditional cigarette will smooth the transition for new vapers and help them to move away from smoking tobacco.

Vaping with the Vilter Fun is really enjoyable. The draw is tight and the flavours are great. We liked it even more with classic flavours, where it works perfectly. The Vilter Fun is a good pod for getting started with vaping, without getting into too many technical details. You vape by inhaling, so there are no settings to adjust.
